Datum is a service of IMCK Corp. ("we," "us," "our"). We respect your privacy and collect only what we need. This policy explains what personal information we collect through knowyourdatum.ca, why, how we protect it, and the choices you have. We handle personal information in accordance with Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA), Alberta's Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA), and Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL).
What we collect
When you request our briefing, we collect the email address you enter, and your first name if you choose to provide it. We do not collect anything else on this site. We do not use analytics, advertising cookies, third-party trackers, or web fonts, so we do not track your browsing.
Why we collect it
We use your email address to deliver the briefing you requested and to send occasional related follow-ups, only with your consent. You can withdraw that consent at any time (see "Your choices" below).
Consent
We ask for your consent when you submit the form, and we use a confirmed (double) opt-in: you will receive an email asking you to confirm before we add you to any list. Every email we send includes a one-click unsubscribe and our mailing address, as required by CASL.
How your information is handled and stored
Our website does not store your personal information. When you submit the form, your details are sent directly, over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection, to our email service provider, Kit (also known as ConvertKit), which stores and processes them securely on our behalf. Storage outside Canada
Kit and Netlify are based in the United States, so your information may be stored and processed there and may be accessible to authorities under U.S. law. By submitting the form, you consent to this cross-border handling.
Sharing
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We share it only with the service providers named above, solely so they can perform the email and hosting services on our behalf.
Retention
We keep your information for as long as you remain subscribed. If you unsubscribe or ask us to delete your information, we remove it from our active lists.
Your choices and rights
You have the right to access the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, withdraw your consent, and request deletion. To do any of these, contact us using the details below. We will respond within a reasonable time.
