Datum · for engineering & industrial firms

Your company already has the answers.

They're buried in project files, proposals, disconnected systems — and people's heads. Datum helps engineering and industrial firms turn the knowledge they already have into intelligence they can actually use.

The real problem

Most firms don't have an information problem. They have an intelligence problem.

The experience is there. The project data is there. The lessons learned are there. The challenge is getting the right knowledge to the right person while there's still time to use it — before the proposal goes out, before the margin is gone, before the expertise walks out the door.

What Datum does

Three places your firm's own knowledge should be working harder.

Win the work

Proposal Intelligence

Find the right project experience, people and previous work when an RFP arrives — without sending senior engineers digging through folders.

Deliver the work

Project Intelligence

Connect schedules, labour and the business systems you already run, so management knows when work is going off track while there's still time to act — not after the margin is gone.

Learn from the work

Knowledge Intelligence

Turn decades of reports, procedures, project experience and employee expertise into secure, searchable institutional knowledge — with answers grounded in your own sources.

Keep the systems you already have. Datum builds the intelligence layer between them.

How Datum works

No report left sitting on a desk.

1 · Find itIdentify the expensive problem.
2 · Establish the datumMeasure what it's costing now.
3 · Design itCreate the better way of working.
4 · Build itUse the right AI, automation and your existing systems.
5 · Implement itGet it working with real employees.
6 · Measure itProve whether it worked.

I don't deliver a recommendation and leave. I stay through implementation and measure the result against where we started.

Founder, Datum

I'm an engineer who spent twenty years inside engineering and technical organizations, at WSP, Grey Owl Engineering, and General Dynamics, running project controls and cost control. I created Datum to help firms make better use of the knowledge, project data and systems they already have, and to actually implement the fix rather than leave another recommendation on a desk. I'm technology-agnostic: if the tools you already pay for can solve the problem properly, I'll use them.
